This message is being sent to you in an effort to update all of our clients with the most up-to-date information we have on the recent Shaw outage, and the subsequent after-effects.
As of 6:00pm Thursday (July 12) evening, customers in the Vancouver & Calgary regions were seeing the following services confirmed as being affected:
- Shaw NOC (Enterprise Technical Support) - down
- Shaw Business Call Center - down
- Shaw Tower Communication Services (internal network) - down
- Operations & Provisioning - down
- Enterprise Customers (PRI/Gateways/MPLS) - minor issues
We have also seen network traffic being routed in unusual paths, resulting in lost packets, causing sporadic service interruptions to network communications.
As of 8:00am Friday (July 13) morning, we have been unable to confirm if these systems are back online, however Shaw has released an update on their website, saying they expect to have their core systems back in full operation by mid-day today (Friday).
